What Sets Us Apart

We are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants based in the Western Suburbs of Chicago.  We are healthcare providers in the NICU. We are moms. We are your advocates. 

While the training and certification process to become an IBCLC is extensive, very few lactation consultants have a background in healthcare.  As a NICU nurse and a NICU speech-language pathologist, we are uniquely positioned to manage the complexities of breastfeeding.  We can help you expertly navigate feeding related challenges and collaborate with yours and baby’s providers to ensure a care plan is established that allows everyone to feel comfortable and satisfied.  Some feeding related challenges include:

  • Painful latch
  • Poor weight gain
  • Sore nipples
  • Pumping
  • Engorgement
  • Low milk supply
  • Breast pain
  • Bottle refusal

Along with our roles as direct patient care providers we are working towards advancing the breastfeeding care of moms and babies.  Our team is involved in research, community advocacy and policy changes to create more breastfeeding-friendly environments.

We know that breastfeeding is a different experience for every family. We are here to assess and help with what YOU need to be successful in your breastfeeding journey. Our consultants are based in the western suburbs of Chicago and available for in home and virtual consults. Our in person service area includes: Brookfield, La Grange, La Grange Park, Western Springs, Clarendon Hills, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Wheaton, Hinsdale, Westmont, Oakbrook, Elmhurst, Villa Park, Lombard, Downers Grove. Our team will make every effort to accommodate in-person visits outside of this service area, but we can always accommodate virtual visits as well.

Pre and post-weight breastfeeding evaluation
Latch and positioning assistance
Pumping evaluation
Symptom management
Feeding care plan

Virtual Consultations

Virtual visits are an effective way of assessing breastfeeding. If at any time we feel like a virtual visit is not sufficient for your needs, we will discuss this with you and arrange for an in person visit. Visit will be conducted on a HIPAA compliant, secure video chat via Google Meet.
